A non-dual approach to Soma.
Soma is a plant medicine formed through the synergistic union of Peganum harmala and Acacia—an alchemy of expansive relaxation and luminosity that reveals the inherent openness, lucidity, and compassion of awareness.
Soma contains the same tryptamine and beta-carboline alkaloids as the Amazonian entheogen Ayahuasca. While deeply resonant in their experiential and medicinal effects, Peganum harmala and Acacia impart a distinct desert-born spaciousness and clarity to the medicine.
A concise transmission integrating the non-dual view and entheogenic plant medicine.
This teaching is intended for two audiences:
The journey unfolds in four parts:
The plants and their synergy
Presenting the synergistic combination of Peganum harmala and Acacia as a contemporary version of the Vedic Soma, an exogenous reflection of Amṛta, a functional Ayahuasca analog, and exploring its correspondence with Dark Retreat—extended solitary multi-day meditation in complete darkness and silence.
The non-dual framework
Defining awareness through the non-dual view.
Exploring how a focus on appearances in entheogenic practice can perpetuate the illusion of duality.
Practical instructions for direct recognition
Detailing how the union of the plant components within Soma facilitates recognition of the inherent openness, lucidity, and compassion of awareness.
Clear Light Medicine is the foundational framework for an evolving vision—the establishment of Soma gardens and Soma temples where the medicine is grown locally, prepared with precision, and facilitated in alignment with the wisdom it illuminates. As this foundation matures, it will support the training of Soma facilitators grounded in the non-dual view.
Gardens, temples, and lineage—a living Soma heritage for future generations.
Sustainable cultivation of Peganum harmala and Acacia—establishing medicine sovereignty and connection with these plant allies.
Medicine journey spaces where community, liberation, and direct recognition can unfold naturally.
Facilitators trained in the non-dual view—humble stewards of this medicine.
All aspects of this vision are inspired by the living wisdom illuminated through this medicine—the responsive compassion that serves as the true facilitator, teacher, healer, and refuge.
Retreats are held in powerful natural settings near pristine wilderness. Grounded in the non-dual view, each retreat offers deep immersion in practice, play, and connection.
Sessions are conducted primarily in silence and darkness—minimizing external stimulation, interference, and distraction. Peganum harmala meditation forms the foundation of practice, cultivating the stable ground of relaxed openness from which tensions can dissolve into clarity.
Available as private sessions or small group retreats.

For over three decades, Ronin has been an explorer and student of entheogenic plants, mushrooms, meditation, non-conceptual awareness, and Dzogchen Buddhism.
At the age of 23, Ronin moved to the Ucayali River in the Peruvian Amazon, where he underwent a one-year plant medicine apprenticeship under the guidance of Metsa Rawa, an elder of the Shipibo-Conibo tribe.
Over 25 years of experience with Soma has refined his understanding of the non-dual approach presented in this teaching. What began as exploration gradually clarified into recognition—that the medicine's deepest gift is not what it creates, but what it reveals. Clear Light Medicine is the expression of that recognition.
If this teaching resonates and you feel called to support the cultivation of Soma gardens, the establishment of temple spaces, and the training of future facilitators, your contribution helps bring this vision into manifestation.
All offerings support the sovereign growth of medicine plants, the creation of optimal retreat environments, and the preservation of this wisdom transmission for those who will come after.
Donations are separate from ebook purchases and go directly toward establishing gardens, temples, and facilitator training infrastructure.
